Congratulations to our own
Dr. Toney  McNair

Chesapeake Education Association is very proud of our "Toney" award winner.  Dr. Toney L. McNair, Jr. was the writer and recipient of the Hampton Roads Community Foundation (HRCF) grant awarded in December of 2014.  The grant was in the amount of $9, 687.00; Dr. McNair plans to use the grant towards a purchase of a baby grand piano for Indian River Middle School where he is the music department chairperson and choral director.  He noted, "receiving this is a great honor for our school district and for our school, the River. Thanks to the HRCF and the E. K. Sloane Fund, our students will now have a musical instrument that adds a more professional quality to our performances and, at the same time, engenders pride and prestige within our community."
Congratulations again to Dr. McNair

I would like to thank everyone who came out to support CEA at the School Board meeting.  We had an excellent turn out.  It was wonderful to look out and see a sea of black!  A special thank you goes out to those of you who spoke out and shared our struggles with the School Board.  You did an awesome job!  As for those of you that wanted to be at the meeting, but had another commitment, we asked that the School Board hear our voices speaking for you!

Get ready...Our next stop...City Council!
